The picture gallery has a new look and feel. It was updated with new software for easier maintenance and to make it load faster.

It has been confirmed that our meetings will continue to be at the Grace Lutheran Church in Eganville for the rest of the 2007-2008 club season.

The Fly Library has been moved to the Forum.

The website has been expanded to include a messaging board (forum). It was added to encourage further discussion outside of our meetings. The forum can be viewed here.

Our first meeting of the season is on Thursday (Sept. 20) at our usual location, the basement of the Grace Lutheran Church in Eganville. Details are on the Calendar page.
August 28, 2007:
With the summer coming to an end this signals the start of our next club season. The 2007-2008 program has been decided and our first meeting is September 20. Details are posted on the Calendar page.
August 20, 2007:
The Bonnechere River float trip was a success. The weather was perfect for fishing and the water was clean and clear. Many smallmouth bass were caught with a number of large ones landed. Thank you Jeff for organizing a great outing.
August 1, 2007:
The August 19th river trip has been changed from the Madawaska River to the Bonnechere River. More details are posted on the Calendar page.
July 29, 2007:
The Big Bass tournament was a great success. $40.00 was raised for the club. The weather was cooperative and fun was had by all. Thanks to Larry for bringing the smoked trout for lunch. The tournament winner was Ken Boland with an 18.5" smallmouth bass. Congratulations Ken. First prize was a beautiful fly tying station and a Rio fly line of Ken's choice. Both prizes were donated by Mike Fuller of "Mike's Fly Shop". Thank you Mike for the donation. Door prize results were as follows: Three prizes of a set of six flies donated by Lew and Paul Ricker, and Jeff Radema were won by Larry Tamosetis, Walter Benz and Doug Lapointe. The forth prize of a hand carved frog made by Ken Boland was won by Lucas Radema. Thanks to all donators for the great prizes.

This is a reminder about the Bass Tournament on Muskrat Lake at Cobden on Sunday, July 15, 2007 from 9:00am to 4:30pm. Prizes include a Rio Fly Line (donated by Mike's Fly Shop), Fly Tying Tool Stand (donated by Mike's Fly Shop) and three sets of 6 flies (donated by Jeff Radema, Paul Ricker, Lew Ricker). $5.00 Entry Fee. The Ottawa Valley Fishing and Outdoor Show was a success. We would like to thank our volunteers helping out at the show.

To help encourage new members the Algonkin Fly Fishers will have a booth at the Ottawa Valley Fishing and Outdoor Show in Carp on April 13-15, 2007. Many thanks to members who can help staff the booth. For members not able to help, please drop in for a chat and see our displays and fly tying anytime during the show.

The meeting scheduled for April 5 has been cancelled due to scheduling conflicts. The next meeting will be held April 19.
February 26, 2007:
A listing of the books, magazines, and CDs available from the lending library is posted on the Downloads page. The materials will be available for sign-out at each meeting. Donations to the library are welcomed.
February 23, 2007:
The entomology program for March 8th, 2007 has been moved to a later date. Instead, Paul & Lew Ricker will be presenting "Winter Trout Tactics: Georgia on the Fly" and will also be leading a fly tying session entitled "Tying Midge Pupae". Members are asked to bring their fly tying equipment to the meeting.

February 5, 2007:
Ron Skevington of Skevy's Outdoor Specialties from Belleville will be the guest speaker for Thursday's meeting (February 8, 2007). He will talk about how to catch pike, display and discuss various pike flies, leaders and other equipment. There will also be an opportunity to purchase some of the above mentioned equipment. Tom has invited Ron for dinner at the Granary at 6pm. All are welcome to join Tom and Ron at the Granary.
January 24, 2007:
The MNR presentation will not take place at the next meeting (January 25, 2005). The program will be as previously scheduled. Members are asked to bring their fly tying equipment to the meeting.
January 8, 2007:
The "Indian River Show" scheduled for the next meeting (January 11, 2007) has been postponed. Thursday night's presentation will now be hosted by Tom Adamchick and Walter Benz. See Calendar for details.
January 7, 2007:
The Pembroke District MNR has provided us with the 2002-2006 Pembroke District stocking list and an Angler's Survey. Both documents are available from the Downloads page. Please take time during the fishing season to complete the Angler's Survey and return it to the address listed. The data you provide will help them better understand the stocking requirements for each individual lake.
